With 3681 participants, and the victory of Tadesse Abraham in 59'55, the 3rd edition of the Geneva 20km by Genève Aéroport reaches a milestone!

The figures speak for themselves, with its 3,681 participants, and a new record for the event by Tadesse Abraham in 59'55, the 20km of Genève by Genève Aéroport seduced the autumn runners. With the addition of more accessible distances to the program (the 10km run, walk, Nordic walk in addition to the 20km solo, duo and trio), the event has doubled its number compared to the first editions.

This enthusiasm is also explained by a unique route traced on the right bank. The start was given this morning at 9:30 a.m. and the runners set off from the Quai du Mont-Blanc before crossing Geneva Internationale. The participants then explored the Geneva countryside dressed in its autumn colors and traveled through the towns of Pregny-Chambésy, Grand-Saconnex, Bellevue and Genthod. Breathtaking views of the Jura, Mont-Blanc and Lake Geneva enhanced the experience of these runners who came in numbers to discover or rediscover Geneva. A friendly and festive atmosphere reigned on the sunny Quai du Mont-Blanc this Sunday in November.

Benjamin Chandelier, director of the event, delighted with this new edition and these sporting exploits, wanted to thank all those involved in the edition. “On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I thank the authorities and the competent administrations of the Canton and the City of Geneva for their unfailing support, all the municipalities crossed by the route (Pregny-Chambésy, Le Grand-Saconnex, Bellevue and Genthod), as well as Genève Aéroport and all our other partners for their help and trust. Without forgetting the 300 valuable volunteers who mobilized for several days to contribute to the success of the event. » See you on November 1, 2020 to celebrate together the 4th edition of the Geneva 20km by Genève Aéroport. A waiting list is already open for 2020 in order to receive advance information: here.
